Safe Kids Wisconsin (website) – Safe Kids Wisconsin supports eleven coalitions that provide safety education, support, and programming throughout the state. Safe Kids Wisconsin is led by Children’s Wisconsin.  Children’s Wisconsin works closely with parents, caregivers, educators, and communities across the state to offer services and resources that help keep Wisconsin’s kids healthy, happy, and safe.

The Wisconsin Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board (website) – The Wisconsin Child Abuse and Neglect  Prevention Board (CANPB) promotes and supports community-based, family-centered approaches to strengthen families’ protective factors and prevent child abuse and neglect. The Prevention Board’s work focuses on policy, professional development, programming, and public awareness. Under the “Our Work” tab, you can access their public awareness campaigns and publications.

  • Celebrate Children Foundation (website) – The Celebrate Children Foundation works in partnership with the Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board to spread evidence-informed prevention programs and services to communities across the state, while engaging in research to develop innovative approaches to strengthen families.

Lead Safe Wisconsin (webpage) – The Wisconsin Department of Health Services shares information regarding resources, tools, and programs designed to prevent lead poisoning in Wisconsin.

Safe Schools (webpage) – The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction’s Safe Schools page contains a variety of resources, training opportunities, and tools designed to assist districts and educators in ensuring schools are a safe place for everyone.

Head Start (website) – Early childhood programs keep children safe by ensuring environments are hazard-free, staff are actively supervising and providing nurturing care, and everyone communicates about safety concerns. Find resources to help staff and families reduce childhood injuries everywhere that children learn and grow. Discover tips for use at home, in cars and buses, on the playground, and in all early childhood settings.

National Center on Health, Behavioral Health, and Safety (website) – This site provides resources on numerous topics that support the NCHBHS’s goal to advance best practices for linking health & early childhood education systems, healthcare professionals & families.

2023/2024 Prevention Resource Guide (pdf) – This resource guide from Child Welfare Information Gateway seeks to highlight the innovative ways that communities around the country are doing purposeful prevention work to help children and families thrive.

Children’s Safety Network (website) – This site contains information and resources organized around a variety of safety topics. Find publications, resource guides, infographics, webinars, blog entries, helpful links, and more.

HealthyChildren.org (website) – HealthyChildren.org is a parenting website backed by 67,000 pediatricians committed to the attainment of optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. Here you can find several featured articles about safety and prevention.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (website) – To help families and providers keep children safe in the home and in the community, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has a comprehensive site with resources organized by the child’s age and topic

National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care and Early Education (website) – This center provides numerous resources, including the National Health & Safety Performance Standards Guidelines for Early Care and Education Programs (Caring For Our Children).

National Center for School Safety(NCSS) (website) – The NCSS is focused on improving school safety and preventing school violence. They provide expert-led training, technical assistance, and a database of additional resources to address school safety challenges.
